SR 509 Dash Point State Park spill cleanup
WSDOT is working with state and local agencies and private contractors to clean up a diesel fuel spill at Dash Point State Park in Federal Way. As much as 300 gallons of diesel fuel flowed out of a tank in a construction staging area in a park parking lot on Thursday night, April 29. Dash Point State Park remains closed during the cleanup work.

Contractor Long Painting Company has been working since July 2009 to repaint and preserve two SR 509 bridges in Federal Way. They have hired NRC Environmental Services to help contain and clean up the spill. Crews hope to reopen the state park by Saturday, May 8.
