The SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program will improve the 12.8-mile corridor from Seattle to Redmond.

SR 520’s Evergreen Point Floating Bridge, Portage Bay Bridge, and bridge approaches are vulnerable to failure during severe windstorms and earthquakes. Improving and replacing the SR 520 bridge and corridor is critical to maintaining public safety and the safety of Washington state’s transportation infrastructure.

Funding for the program is capped at $4.65 billion and includes replacing the floating bridge on Lake Washington, building transit, HOV and interchange improvements from Medina to Bellevue, and improving the Seattle interchanges at Montlake and Interstate 5.
