The storm before the flood - SR 14 slide recovery

Crews are still working to clean up the mess left behind by mudslides that closed SR 14 on July 14. Here's a look at the storm that started it all!


The hard-hitting thunderstorm dumped several inches of rain on a three-mile stretch of SR 14, just east of Roosevelt. Crews reopened the highway on July 16, but are still working to clear debris and repair guardrail.


This photo was taken by a member of the Paterson Fire Department who happened to be on the Columbia River during the storm.
