Rock scaling above SR 503 east of Woodland

While rocks and debris continue to fall from the hillside adjacent to State Route 503 east of Woodland, work to remove tress from the top of the slope began Friday, March 31. Pacific Blasting and Demolition crews started scaling work on the top of the slope on Saturday, April 1, removing loose rocks from the hillside. They are working above a 20 million-pound rock slab that came loose, casing a debris slide, which closed the highway on Monday, March 13.
