Rail -- Rail Trench at Port of Vancouver
This new rail trench along the Columbia River at the Port of Vancouver creates a new way for freight trains to enter the port, eliminating a bottleneck that slowed passenger trains. It also protects against any rise in the river. This shows the first BNSF train to use the trench in July 2015. The project was managed by the WSDOT Rail Division using federal funds.
