Double Chocolate Loaf with Marmalade

This rich double chocolate loaf cake has a deep chocolatey flavour from cocoa powder and studded throughout with chopped dark chocolate. The headnotes made a strong bid to serve this as breakfast. Chocolate cake to start the day? It's hard to refuse!

 

The original recipe serves this with a peanut butter cream cheese spread. I had something else in mind. I added orange zest to the cake and topped each slice of cake with homemade spiced orange marmalade. Marmalade just says "breakfast" to me!
