Swedish Visiting Cake

A cake with no leavening, is it even possible? This Swedish Visiting Cake is made with only flour, eggs, sugar, and butter with hints of cardamom, vanilla, and almond. The eggs aren't even whipped to give any volume! However, as you can see in the photo, it's a very moist cake with tight crumb. Not at all tough. I especially love the topping of sliced almond and swedish pearl sugar. Not only are they pretty, they give a nice crunch to the cake.
