Thompson Hall, University of New Hampshire

Thompson Hall was first built in 1893 on land donated by Benjamin Thompson. It was the first home of the University of New Hampshire. We rested for the night in Durham, NH and had our dinner in one of the sushi cafes on campus. The campus is great which brought back my own school memories. The next day, we explored a little bit of UNH campus.

The University of New Hampshire (UNH) is a public university in the University System of New Hampshire (USNH). The main campus is in Durham, New Hampshire, United States. An additional campus is located in Manchester. With over 15,000 students, UNH is the largest university in the state. The university is one of only nine land, sea and space grant institutions in the nation.

The University of New Hampshire was ranked as having the 4th most expensive in-state tuition for a public 4-year college in the country by the Department of Education in 2012. In 2004, UNH was the only public institution in New England to rank in the top 10 of number of Fulbright fellowships awarded, with five graduates receiving grants. In the same year, UNH was ranked the 10th best entrepreneurial college in the nation by The Princeton Review.

In 1866, the university was first incorporated as the New Hampshire College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts in Hanover, New Hampshire, in association with Dartmouth College.
