moose crossing the river in Grand Teton

Moose crossing the river in Grand Teton National Park. And there was traffic jam on the highway as many stopped their autos to catch a glimpse of this animal and take pictures with their super-zoom lenses.

We were stuck in a traffic backup for a mile or two that left us wondering what might have caused such a backup. We asked one park ranger who was directing traffic - "what's happening?". His reply, "moose crossing the river, are you stopping too?"

In places like this, wild animals have celebrity status - people go to any lengths to get a good picture, even waiting for hours to capture a good "National Geographic" type scene etc.

This is pretty much the last capture of our Yellowstone and Grand Tetons vacation. It was an awesome vacation that was over even before we realized.
