Three Wise Men and the Sea 04
Out walking at Portobello beach with chum and his dogs today (spent last two days at home with horrible virus, relief to get out for some air). As we were returning to the car we saw these three robed men carrying staff, walking slowly down to the sea, removing their sandals as they went, to stand right by the shoreline, facing out to the wide, wide ocean and world beyond.
We saw a similar but larger group a couple of years back and I snapped a few photos, a group of white-robed men and women who walked down to the sea then stood singing out to the ocean. It was a fascinating sight but I had no idea what the ceremony meant or who they were, although the last time I took pics of them doing this someone told me they had seen similar ceremonies in beaches in Africa. Whatever it was, it was unusual and interesting to see.
I normally prefer B&W for people watching shots, but the winter light and the colour of the Forth was so nice today I thought I would switch to colour for one.
