Nest of wonderfulness 01
Walking along the Union Canal this afternoon, I've seen a pair of swans and their little fluffy flotilla of their new babies swimming along the canal in recent weeks. Today one was on the bank of the canal, another in the water, dozing near the reeds. When I looked down they had built a small next among the reeds at the edge of the water and the cygnets were all curled up in it together, mostly snoozing in the warmth of the afternoon.
Not ideal pics, but I didn't want to risk getting any closer for a clearer view through the undergrowth, and risk disturbing either the babies or the parents. What a wonderful little natural piece of treasure to just find walking through my neighbourhood.
