IndyRef - Catalonia & Scotland 01
Many Catalaonians in a buzzing Edinburgh this evening eagerly watching how the vote for the Independence Referendum will go (they are fighting to have one of their own to secede from Spain). In front of Saint Giles Cathedral in Parliament Square appropriately enough, next to the the former home of the pre-Union Scots parliament that ceased to be 300 years ago (the modern devolved parliament is in a new building down by the palace). They had arranged a Catalonian and Scottish flag, intertwined using coloured glass and candles. Just home, polls have closed, counting begins, by morning we will know if Scotland remains in the UK or returns to independence. Huge turnout which is a good thing for democracy regardless of outcome.
