Woodridge Police Department
The first Woodridge Police Station was the kitchen and living room of a model home at 2909 Forest Glen, later the park district office.
The model home, built by a developer in Woodridge, was first leased to School District 68 and used as classrooms until the Woodridge School was built.
After the school vacated, the Forest Glen house was leased to the village. The living room and kitchen were the police department, 1 bedroom for the mayor's office, a 2nd for the village clerk and the 3rd bedroom for the library.
Part of the basement was for public works and the other part was the court room and counsel chamber, with a judge's bench.
The dispatching was only manned when somebody was on duty, a couple hours a week. The police sergeant's wife had a telephone extension in her house, and during the daytime, the sheriff would be called. At night, however, the porch light would be lit for the patrol car to stop for the call.
