Silverback Portrait Close-Up

Images of the Group 5 family of endangered mountain gorillas who reside in the Parc des Volcans in northwestern Rwanda. There are approximately 700 gorillas left in the Virungas mountain range which extends through not only Rwanda, but also the DR Congo and Uganda. Each country works on it's own conservation program funded through the income generated by international tourists who spend upwards of $400 US for a single hour long visit. It is an experience worth every single penny though.
