My dear friend film director, photographer, painter Karl Krogstad, a great avant-garde artist died Oct. 27th. Karl holding a megaphone posing with me, Linda Lane, some cast & crew of our first major production together, set in the background of "Red Square in Moscow".
Karl Krogstad, Saint, Sinner, Chef, Artist, Filmmaker, Norwegian, made Seattle an interesting place to live!!!
My favorite work of KK's is “Gazebo by the Sea,” a mystical adaptation of a T.S. Eliot poem.
When I arrived to register at the recently accredited Cornish, I'd already studied at the Univ. of Alaska, Anchorage and the Univ.of Washington, Seattle - I'd taken many 2nd & 3rd year classes - the registrar couldn't have me take them again for credit.
I said I wanted to study filmmaking.
Someone referred me to the avant-garde director Karl Krogstad. I met with the high energy artist/producer, & was immediately impressed. He agreed to teach me for 3 credits - in turn, I agreed to work on painting sets, making posters, writing, decorating, set, scenic designs, and unit management.
Loved working with him. Love Karl Krogstad. What an artist!
