the 22 individual shots that were used to make this 360x180 spherical panorama. all but the last one were shot using the Nodal Ninja 3 panorama bracket with fixed iso, aperature, shutter speed, white balance (this can be fixed later in raw conversion), and focus. of course, it's always a good idea to use mirror lock-up with self-timer or remote to get the crispest images.
the nadir portion is the most difficult part if one wants to make the tripod/bracket disappear -- it has to be shot handheld, which will inevitably cause blur, parallax mismatch, and likely shadows. i'm still trying to figure out a good approach. here i shot it twice, once on tripod and the same shot again handheld (same exposure but higher ISO and wider aperture to avoid blur). i only needed the tripod portion to match, so that i could cover it up.
