Illustrative Portrait of Briana in Florida: Anna Maria Island, where the Gulf of Mexico meets Tampa Bay.
Considerable Pshop work here. Added grain and intensified the contrast with several masks including a little HiPass. I wanted the image to look manipulated and more illustrative than a photograph. Composition, color and pose led me to that decision which was made at the time I shot the image.
Sun is coming from directly camera left and Briana is in the shade of a tree. I added a speedlight to camera right, slightly off axis for the main and a second speedlight to camera right and slightly in back of her for a rim. I balanced the exposure to be 1/2 stop over the ambient scene behind her and exposed for the flash... rendering the background as 1/2 stop under exposed.
NOTE: I had misnamed this earlier with Atlantic Ocean meeting Tampa Bay. Billy Kidd rightfully noted that it ain' the dang Atlantic, but the Gulf of Mexico. But remember I live in a desert where we have no water that isn't in plastic containers and costs more than gas... so forgive me. Thanks Billy, I don't want to look any more moronic than I am. Ya know...
