From Jumping in the Sun to a more romantic image. Warm directional light, subtle colors, and a different perspective. Oh, and a very willing model makes it even easier.
This was a little experiment that I wish I had worked a bit more. I only got about 5 shots of this before we had to go to meet someone. There is a flash head to camera right and it is set to 1/2 stop less than the sun (which is causing the nice reflection on the sand), and it is producing a very nice fill.
I placed a second strobe way to camera left and set it at 1.5 stop less than the sun. I then zoomed it way out and aimed it over her head. I only wanted a little brush of light on her face, not a rim light on her arm. The point was to show her figure in a more warm and accessible light.

Photoshop: cleaned up the sand in two places, adjusted skin and AcmeGlam at 70%. I like the glow...
