M9 + Noctilux f0.95/50 + pola filter in holder + thumbs up

the daily companion now. 56723 exposures since Sept 2010. usually with a 35mm summilux attached. or a 28mm summicron. in tight crowds the 18mm super elmar.

have the noctilux with me today, so i can take pictures at the dinner table tonight.

i only put the polarization filter on, because it is rarely shown. and it is also a clever setup.

(the filter is larger than the lens would usually take, so it is possible to preview the effect through the viewfinder.)

and i can only recommend thumbs up. it is a great attachment for this camera. i did not screw mine in firmly, so i can take it off quickly if necessary. but most of the time it stays on.

Georg Pagenstedt danke. ich kann es kaum glauben wie populär dieses bild ist. sonderbar irgendwie.
Christine thank you. this friendly camera has been a trusty friend for several months now. the lens attached here is a serious challenge. it is heavy and tough to operate.
Grant Simon Rogers thank you so much. your quiet photographs are a true inspiration.
James Landon Johnson yes, it is a cat with a little bird. a japanese sticker. i tried a whole variety of these. the red one looked best somehow. my camera is not really camouflaged. it is brassing quite nicely.
    Khánh Hmoong thanks
Neil Kremer thank you. and thanks for the link.
wizardwig i bought the lens in munich. 30 minutes before the Leica store opened. I had to do it. I just had to. Sad. Hey, I do not have a car.
Paul H. Buch it is a very difficult lens to work with. it is heavy and not very practical. but yes, it does seem to have some magic attached to it.
    Luca Caceci : )
czd72 yeah, thank you so much.
Martin Cauchon haha, thank you. if it keeps being as popular as it is right now, it could become my "most interesting" shot on flickr. and that would be somehow sad. the picture was taken at my desk, at the office.
    Noor Kadir (rana) thank you.
Mukul Banerjee thank you so much. it is a pretty simple picture. but it seems to be loved by many. hmm...
Rafee. i do not really deserve to have this setup. will need to work hard to earn the respect of the community, i guess.
Sarah Lucas Photography thank you. it felt like a simple shot.

Drooled on myself a little. Interesting way to set up the filter, I haven't seen that before.

    Sweet.

What else do you need ?!
  • Francois Thomas 4y

Great set, and thanks for the polarizing filter explanation which suddenly makes a lot of sense !
  • Marcello Sokal 4y

Great filter set, will be very useful for use in my M´s. Where do you buy it?.
  • Witold Riedel 4y

    hippiaden thank you
Marco van Lith the lens is actually pretty heavy, so it is not exactly practical. (thus I need plenty of other gear.) ; )
Francois Thomas an attachment with a similar logic to it exists for the 18mm super angulon as well. otherwise there is a special polarization filter attachment for most of the other lenses.
Marcello Sokal the camera was bought online, about a year ago. the noctilux was purchased from the leica store in munich. the filter attachment as well. the polarization filter came from b&h in new york. thumbs up is from the leica store in frankfurt.
here are some purchase options for the filter attachment online: www.google.com/products/catalog?client=safari&rls=en&...
