This a portrait of my sister Maria. I took this one during her visit in December 2010.
The shot was taken under a scaffold (always construction in NYC). I like scaffolds because they provide all these lines in photos. The biggest challenge was that there was bright sunlight at that point, so I told her to stand right behind a pole, so that her face would not be overexposed. I used the pop-up flash in order to lighten the shadow (fill-light). Then, in LR3 I made some adjustments (constrast, eye treatment, vignette, tones/WB) and I'm pretty satisfied with the result.
The shot was taken with the 80-200mm 2.8, @ 125mm, f/5,6, ISO 320. This is an excellent lens for portraits. Sharp and beautifiul bokeh!
