WIPO and Eurasian Patent Office Sign Agreement
On November 22, 2021, Saule Tlevlessova, President of the Eurasian Patent Office (second from right), and WIPO Director General Daren Tang (second from left) signed an agreement in relation to the functioning of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) as an International Searching Authority and International Preliminary Examining Authority under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The EAPO will begin operation in its new role from a date to be appointed in early 2023. This marks an important new step in cooperation between the organizations to further improve support for innovative activities in the Eurasian region.
