WIPO Director General Receives "Global Literacy Award" from NFB
WIPO Director General Gurry received on July 8, 2018 a "Global Literacy Award" at the annual convention of the U.S.-based National Federation of the Blind (NFB), held in Orlando, Florida.
The award noted Mr. Gurry's efforts in increasing the availability of accessible books worldwide via WIPO's Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works for Persons Who Are Blind, Visually Impaired or Otherwise Print Disabled.
The award was presented by Ms. Pamela Allen, NFB First Vice President of the Board of Directors. NFB President Mark Riccobono (right) and NFB Immediate Past President Marc Maurer (left) were also present at the ceremony.
