Star Trails -- Week 31/52 - P52'10
[Event] On the local news they informed us that the sun had a small flare explosion and the flare would travel and interfere with our atmosphere on Tuesday, Aug. 3 night. This could then possibly bring out some of the northern lights (which it never did.. but it did farther north in Canada).
Well staying out late that night, we had few clouds, yet there seemed to be cloud lightning flashes every few minutes that night through 1am. No northern lights, but I did try getting some star trails. With low battery (whoops) I knew I only had a few shots. This photo was 3 stacked @ 5 minutes with 100 ISO (to keep the noise lesser then a single 15 minute exposure). Since I had it on auto balance, I made sure the color temp in post-process matched then added a Cooling Filter (80). As you can see, I let about 20 seconds pass between each shot to view the image. This caused those slight gaps between the star trails (top right)
