Superman Sells Twinkees

These old comics are full of popular characters selling Hostess snack cakes. Personally, I think this sort of thing is beneath The Man of Steel, but I'm not going to be the guy who tells him that.

The evil programmers are named 'Tara Cobal'? And 'Fortran'? *groan*

Wait a minute! I mean I know he foiled their evil plan and all, but dude! They got free Twinkies! How come only the bad guys get to eat the Twinkies?

(I know it's anachronistic of me, but as I read through the dialog I kept expecting Cobol to say, "All your satellites are belong to us!")

The '70s were tough times for the Man of Steel.

The Twinkie defense! I knew they made people do evil things. Fotran and Cobol, funny.

But their plan was foolproof! Why didn't *I* think of creating a monopoly on weather satellites?

Would it have been better if they were Hostess Fruit Pies? LOL!

This isn't nearly as bad as the Radio Shack sponsored comic books.

Wil, Just think some poor artist had to draw that twinkie. You know he or she was pissed! hahah
  • The Spinosaurus 4y

Geez I oughta show you my Spiderman promotional comic where he admits he was molested as a child.
Who needs therapy when you've got spandex?

The guy in the white shirt being carried by Superman should fall through it to his death unless that material is sewn from Kryptonian sheep.
  • Steampunk Beatnik 4y

It never occurred to me, but I guess Supes would carry snacks with him.... Just in case.
  • Fergus Ray Murray 3y

I always wondered why Fortran eventually fell out of favour with universities. Now that I know Superman was hired to produce anti-Fortran propaganda, it makes perfect sense...
