• Star for an eye.
  • Luxurious mane.
  • A wheel instead of back legs. This makes the unicorn go faster.
  • I'm pretty sure this isn't a rainbow but instead is clearly some kind of arching fart. - seanbonner

stupid unicorn

Newer Older

My editor Andrew and I spent some time on the phone today, plotting out our 2009 editorial calendar for Monolith Press.

We did the meeting using VOIP, and I ended up taking a lot of notes with an actual pen on an actual pad of paper. Unlike the boring experience of taking notes in a text editor on the computer, using an actual pen and actual paper presented the opportunity to draw an actual unicorn, with a star for an eye, a wheel instead of back legs, riding on the leading edge of a rainbow.

It's blurry, because it's just a stupid crappy camphone shot, but I think that's part of its charm.

are you sure it wasn't farting the rainbow?!

or maybe since it's going faster that's the trail cloud like Speedy Gonzales

It's not a stupid unicorn, it's Timmy the Wonder Unicorn.
He rolls around and shoots rainbows out of his ass.

It is difficult to photograph the complete arc of a rainbow, as this would require an angle of view of 84°. For a 35 mm camera, a lens with a focal length of 19 mm or less wide-angle lens would be required. From an aeroplane, one has the opportunity to see the whole circle of the rainbow, with the plane's shadow in the centre. This phenomenon can be confused with the glory, but a glory is usually much smaller, covering only 5°–20°...
So you've done pretty well there.
Unicorns on the other hand are piss easy to photograph.

Such a cute picture. I think there's definite merchandising opportunity here!

Can I name him? Can I? Can I name him Gordon?

    WTF Wil?

Though I must say, I like it.

After giving this more thought, I think I might get this tattooed across my lower back. Nothing says class like a lower back tattoo of a uniwheelercorn (as I've decided it should be called).

The cover page of the calendar! Or perhaps the logo for a new company enterprise. Oh, the possibilities are endless! I love your lame unicorn, it's a very troubling image. Oh, and I vote t-shirt, too. Zazzle or Cafe Press...

Wil, Wil! I found your unicorn! You just need to add wheels and draw that star on!

    April loves unicorns

My daughter recently drew a picture of a unicorn with fire on it's back. How does it feel to be outdone by a 5 yr old?
