2012 - El Chupacabra

El Chupacabra is Spanish for the one who sucks goats. It is a mythical creature in latin american culture. It reportedly has spikes on its back, fangs and is often shown hunched over like a kangaroo. I learned about it from watching The X-Files when I first came to North America and was living in Oakland. Most eyewitness accounts have later been proven to be coyotes with mange.

I've liked chupacabras since I've known of them. It was quite an honour to encounter one in real life. It was akin to seeing big foot or the abominable snowman in person. I spotted this chupacabra around Carburn Park near the Bow River. It was rather non-chalant and didn't bother anyone. It was just passing by to wherever it is that chupacabras go.
