Smack Dab In The Middle Of Everything

West Milton Cascades

West Milton, Ohio

What makes this set of falls so interesting it the fact that there's a McDonalds across the street at a busy intersection just outside the West Milton business district, and just beyond the top of the falls the creek runs between two houses. When I was here in April the falls were nowhere near as impressive as this day and I don't think I could have asked for a more perfect flow. If it weren't for the surrounding landscape I think this 15 ft. falls could be one of the most beautiful in the state. To the left of the image out of view a set of concrete stairs follow along the creek side, out of view in the upper left is an old concrete overlook platform and a decaying covered viewing area, and in full view all around are those crappy honeysuckle bushes that seem to grow everywhere here in the midwest. Nonetheless, nature put on a little show and I was lucky enough to get to take advantage of it.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and holiday season! I've been going non-stop since last Wednesday, with two waterfall day tours, getting a mohawk, dancing at the Goth Club, cooking fudge, homemade mac and cheese, a meatloaf, spending time with both sides of the family, and with friends and surviving two hangovers.
