National Steamboat Monument
Riverfront, Cincinnati, Ohio
Originally we hadn't planned to walk to the The National Steamboat Monument from Sawyer Point but we discovered that it was operational. I hadn't seen it working in several years. We spent over an hour here and discovered it is a working clock, as steam will blow out one stack toward the paddlewheel above on every second. At a little past the hour all stacks will blow off at once as all the while the sounds of 1800's riverboat life fill the air.
