Holy Bath Behind Taj

First of all, sincere apologies for such a long absence from Flickr. I also thank those who expressed concern by writing mails to me to enquire about my well being, my long absence got some people worried. I have been very busy working on a coffee table book since Jan 2007. The time schedule is too tight and I have been travelling continuously. The book goes for print in August 2007. I wanted 18 months but got three months to work, which has got extended twice.
Recently, I went to Agra and the first thing to do was a visit to the Taj on the other side of the Yamuna River. I found people taking bath in the River, as it was a local festival. Since, it had rained a bit, water was better than last year. I had to spend three hours inside the River and for this duration I had to forget about the sewerage water of whole Agra being directed to Yamuna. Sometimes, I had to sit on a layer of muck, which was left behind by the receding water. As I could not get across Yamuna this time, there was no boat and the current was too fast to negotiate with, I stayed this side of the river and finished shooting in three hours. After finishing the shoot, I went to the nearest temple to have bath three times.
I will be away from Flickr for few more weeks! Please bear with me.
In fact, Mr K Koshy flickr.com/photos/kkoshy/, my mentor, has been exerting pressure on me to upload images on Flickr, in spite my very heavy commitment towards the book . Since, he is the one who has got me into travel photography and supported me when needed, even to acquire new equipment, I could not say `no'.
