Greater Kudu backlit by the last vestiges of an Etosha sunset 110_1050_RJ
One evening the light was absolutely gorgeous but almost all the animals had come to the waterhole and gone back into the bush. A lone Kudu Bull stood around waiting on I don't know what. I looked for others animals to photograph in this gorgeous light but none were around.
I don't care for a three legged Kudu but this thing would only stand there like this when it looked at me. I don't care at all for animals looking the other way, away from me, or in a way that they give the impression they are looking out of the frame so I took what I could get.
This shot, as well as many others from Etosha, were taken with a Canon 10D as shown in my EXIF data, visible to all. I don't know what it is about the 10D but it had a color rendition, even in AWB, that was tops in my book. Or at least the copy that I had seems to have a unique color to the images. I now wish I had that old 10D back but I gave it to a friend of mine in Namibia and I will be visiting that camera later this spring. I hope it is still around!
