Loretta Lynn's Plantation Home

    Newer Older

    Hurricane Mills, TN

Loretta Lynn and her husband Mooney lived in this gorgeous 14 room plantation home for 22 years. She has since built another house behind this one that she currently lives in. My husband and I toured the home earlier this week. You can go inside the home and look around on the ground floor. It is really nice!

Here is some interesting info I found on this house:

and, apparently this plantation home is haunted, according to an hour-long special I saw on the travel Channel.

Brent and MariLynn: I must have missed that one. I watch The Travel Channel all the time, but I do tend to skip the Haunted shows though.

When we went on the tour they asked us if we had watched the documentary on the house. None of us had. They said that the previous owners had a baby that died in the home. There are 4 bedrooms upstairs, which of course we didn't get to see. One of the rooms is the "brown" room and one of Loretta's sons had a ghost try to take off his boots while he was sleeping. The guide said that none of Loretta's children will go back into the brown room. Also they said that many fans send in pictures where you can see a ghost in one of the upstairs bedroom windows. No ghosts in any of my pictures. :)

Wow! What a great picture! We just returned from a trip out that way and visited there as well, but sadly, none of my pics of the main house turned out as great as that. Congrats on a first class photo!

She has been very fortunate in her life. Had some sadness too but what a beautiful home, My dream home. Unbelieveably gorgeous. I would love to have something like that. But DREAM it is.... I love the ghosts too connected to it. and the old stories. I am going to hopefully get to go see it this August. Depends on our time. God Bless you Loretta Lynn. I been a fan for many years and love your whole story. You have been through so much.
