In case of winter, break glass [Explore]

The calendula in the vintage jar is a representative from our garden. This mild winter has allowed our calendula plants to bloom straight through. So I snipped this one on the way inside the house, arms laden with just-harvested carrots for dinner. It's been a good year in the garden. I've photographed the calendulas we grow before, but I also was thinking today about "created" flowers, like the dyed daisies pictured here. I bought them earlier in the day in a fit of "I need something gaudy in my life -- right now!" The two were a natural contrast. The canning jars simply caught my eye in an open box, waiting to go out to the garage. The rest, as they say, is pixels. ~whoaglo~
