I dont care for this photo, we need to get out from Afghanistan. If anybody wants to continue, send your children, or husband to fight that war.

Defense. With Karzi out, the cia implicated, and a sinking feeling this has been a red herring, I'd like to see a force capable of protecting nukes in area,. Then i'd like to see the children come home and the ones who desire given jobs in security, police, national guard. Bank management even. We've got some missing visa holders running around within our boarders and I'm none to comfortable with it. I'd also like to see is a certain country, stop intruding on land not thiers. Respect thy neighbor, if u are incapable of loving them. Take the bullets out of the equation, if u desire providence.

      Intense picture ...

I think it's funny, though, that they've got paper cups with the White House seal. You'd think they'd use glasses if they want to look smart. The president seems to drink straight from the bottle.

End this silly costly war NOW!

    14. rfwberdw 54 months ago | reply

Please end the war. It's really not in the best interest, nor do I think that it is of vital national interest.

What are among the real vital national interests?
      — How about ecological sustainability and social justice.

This is a superb shot! There’s no escape from the image’s energy. Even if this were staged with models, it would be powerful…but with all that “real” brass - wow!

The darkness on the left, bottom and right of the group really helps to set off the subjects and adds to the mystic. It is fascinating to observe that President Obama’s water bottle is the only one on a napkin, and further, while his water bottle appears unused the napkin looks like it has seen some service. Does he drink a lot of water, or save napkins? :) Also, it is interesting to see that President Obama uses a teleprompter here also. I couldn’t make out anything on the screen.

But anyway, some small nits. The lights above are distracting and do not provide balance with the dark bottom; perhaps a nd grad filter? Probably not, and the framing is already tight, so then maybe a wider angle (lens) or larger room. :) Yes, on second thought, the lights add a certain heat or intensity - .like an interrogation room feeling. A bit more of the light fixtures included would solve the balance problem and maintain the image’s intensity.

Finally, of course, an increased contrast black and white conversion fixes the photograph.

Kes that is not a teleprompter, that is used to call up and link up with others who may not be able to make it to that meeting. I read up on it on another web site.

And I agree with you, the light make it look like an interrogation room.

Gentlemen, can any of you give me a reason to send more troops to Afghanistan other than, "General McChrystal said so?"
