Arbre du Tenere

Famous spot and the only "tree" marked on large scale maps of the world. It was an acacia tree with 36 meter deep roots and the only one for several hundred kilometers until a drunken Libyan truck driver knocked it over in 1973. The original is now in a museum in Niamey and this sculpture marks the spot.
