Canoe on Little Deschutes
I'm looking back at shots from this past year (putting together a photo calendar). This one rose to the top, and I hadn't posted it here yet.
I went with my boys on an afternoon float down the Little Deschutes River near Sunriver this past spring. It was a fantastic little trip. We aren't experienced paddlers, so it took us a bit to get our bearings. It was surprising how some strong breezes affected us -- I wouldn't have thought this low-to-the-water non-sail boat would get so pushed around by the wind. But we stayed up, we didn't tip over, and we got to where we meant to get.
I took my plastic Viv on the trip, in case we did get wet. When I managed to keep my finger out of view, it captured some fantastic vistas.
