Welcome to our World!
This is one of my favorite shots of summer 2009.
Three of the five American Robin eggs have hatched in the nest in my backyard. The one on the left is still half in his shell. It has been amazing how protective the adult birds have become now. When they were still just eggs I would set my step ladder up by the nest to have a peak and Mom would fly away to a distant tree in the neighbors yard. Now with her babes she does not go far at all, she was only about 6 feet (2 metres) away when I took this shot. I am looking forward to watching them these next few weeks. Welcome to our world!
