Day 186 - West Midlands Police - Solihull walk-in centre

Great photo from the opening of our new walk-in centre in Chelmsley Wood.

 

The partnership approach between the force and Solihull Council will mean that 'front office' services – traditionally only available from police stations – will now be available at the existing Solihull Connect walk in centre above Asda in the Chelmsley Wood shopping centre.

 

"This is an innovative and ground-breaking approach which we have been working on for several months and which we believe is the start of a whole new approach to providing policing services to the people of the West Midlands," said Chief Superintendent Sally Bourner, Solihull local policing unit commander.

 

"Having a joint, one-stop service, is an innovative way of delivering an accessible service to local people, in a place where they visit as part of their daily business, in a location which is pleasant and inviting and where they can interact with the police in an environment where they feel comfortable.

 

"We have worked together to overcome a number of practical hurdles along the way but we have turned our aspiration into reality.

The opening hours at Solihull Connect in Chelmsley Wood will be 10am – 5pm on weekdays and 9am -1pm on Saturdays.
