Military Appreciation Day
The Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation hosts an annual day, usually in August, to hold a day of fun and games for military personnel at West Point. This year, the event was held at Lake Frederick with 470 military personnel and their families attending. Some inlcuded their family pets in the festivities.

The attendees enjoyed hot dogs, hamburgers, soft drinks and got involved in friendly competitions with volleyball, basketball, cardboard boat regatta and exercising their legs when paddle boating.

The military police came in first in basketball, tug-of-war and was the best looking boat in the boat regatta. The vet clinic was voted as the best Titanic impression and was second in the volleyball competition.

MEDDAC came in first in valleyball and the cardboard boat regatta and placed first in the Commander's Cup.
