🇪🇸 Arco 280 Camino de Santiago @ Barbantes

A truly rare breed these days in Spain are conventional loco-hauled consists, and by "conventional" I mean non-Talgo stuff. Last year, I had seen the night train from Madrid to Cerbère - which by now is truncated to Madrid-Barcelona only - and this year I went for the only remaining day train: Arco «Camino de Santiago». This train consists of three branches: Vigo-Bilbao, Vigo-Hendaye (F) and A Coruña-Hendaye. Here we see the coaches originating from Vigo-Guixar, with the first two coaches going to Bilbao-Abando and the third one having Hendaye as its destination. The train is hauled by EuroSprinter loco 252 044. The train runs under number 280; its counterpart in the other direction is train 283. Barbantes, 28-07-2014.
