bamboo shoot

Yellow groove bamboo shooting. I counted over 100 new shoots before I gave up. I am guessing I can kiss these little guys goodbye, it is going to hit twenty degrees Fahrenheit in a couple of nights. If it is not miserably windy tomorrow during the middle of the day I am going to pull weeds, gather leaves and anything else I can find and pile on top of any shoots that I see. I doubt it will matter much though, considering how cold it is going to get.

 

It has not dipped below the mid forties at night in weeks. The bad thing about spring coming early is that it sometimes decides not to last.
