BEFORE AND AFTER PIZZA
I made deep-dish pizza tonight. It was good! I took the picture at left before I added the basil.
This is day 3 of the Pentax Single in June challenge (use one lens for a month), and this month I'm using the SMC DA 18-135 lens. It's an autofocus lens, and the 18mm wide end (25mm to 202mm equivalent) is certainly handy, especially after using a 55mm prime lens all last month; however, I just can't help comparing it to my FZ1000, which has a 25-400mm (equivalent) lens that is faster, brighter, and more accurate—blazing autofocus that is untouched by any other camera in existence.
So, the 18-135 is always going to be lagging behind. But it is weather resistant, lightweight, relatively sharp, and renders colors nicely, with very little CA or distortion. It's not a bad lens; just not a great lens.
