Leapin' Lizards! The popular comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world's best-loved musicals. "Annie" tells the tale of a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and finds a new family and home with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

Weathervane Playhouse first presented "Annie" in 1994 as part of its Mainstage Series and revived the show in 1995 as an extra “holiday show.” Annie’s hugely successful original Broadway production (1977 to 1983) ran for more than 2,000 performances. The musical was adapted into a major motion picture in 1982 and again in 1999 for television. A 35th Anniversary production has been announced to open on Broadway in the fall of 2012.
