Ford Galaxy 500 convertable, two Cobras, a GT40, pair of Mustangs..
This is the great egress at the end of the tribute and remembrance for Carol Shelby, May 25, 2012, on the lawn in front of the Mercury News. There were 175-200 Shelby cars and replicas in attendance. The Galaxy 500 joined the exit parade after we did, we were happy to let it go in front of us. Ahead of the convertible are two Cobras in the traditional blue w/ white stripes. Probably at least one is a reproduction. Ahead of that, a GT-40 replica, probably the #32 car I was photographing on the lawn. Looks like two Mustangs / Shelbys at the head of the line.
So here we are on Ritter Park Drive, we've crossed the bridge over the creek and we're at a dead stop, waiting on the light at Brokaw.
The Galaxy had driven out of a time warp, along with the 1960s shirt-dress the driver was stylishly wearing... The car was truly huge, 10+ feet of sheet metal stretching to infinity behind the back edge of the door. This is what used to be called a "Full Size" American car. Gigantic. It wouldn't fit into a "Compact" parking spot! Its as big as a pickup truck.
