AIChE student chapter attends national conference, brings home second place poster award
Seven Wayne State University College of Engineering undergraduate students attended the 2013 American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Annual Student Conference in November. Justin Khami, Christopher Lloyd, Enxhi Xhafa, William Zygmunt, Sean Carroll, Dhanya Andrew and Andrea Trevino participated in the meeting thanks to the support of the college and its Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, the undergraduate research office and the Wayne State Dean of Students Office. Eranda Nikolla, assistant professor of chemical engineering and materials science and AIChE faculty advisor, and Chuck Manke, department chair, accompanied the students. While there, Zygmunt won second place for his poster on "The Effects of Calcium on the Structure of Zwitterionic Lipid Bilayers." Zygmunt conducts research with Jeffrey Potoff, associate professor of chemical engineering and materials science.
