St Michael's Church, Brent Knoll, Somerset

Remnants of the Norman church are still visible in St Michael’s Church in Brent Knoll. The nave has a wagon roof, beautifully carved 14th Century bench ends, and a memorial to John Somerset. The unique Stuart pulpit reflects the decoration of the Norman South door. The carved roof of the 15th Century North aisle is divided into ninety-six panels, each different. A tower, with gargoyles, is 14th Century and a hundred years later a corbel showing an angel with the arms of Passion was added next to the chapel altar.
