Washimiya, Saitama (2009)
On the only nice day on the trip, I took a special trip to the Washimiya Shrine. This is one of the oldest shrines in Japan, but is also a Otaku monument thanks to the anime "Lucky Star."
I went to Washimiya solely because of the anime, so I guess you could call it a Otaku Pilgrimage. The best part of the trip, the ema (wood blocks).
The beyond the shrine, the town itself is very small, not much to see. It has a small population, which is why on March 23, 2010, it is to be merged with the city of Kuki.
