Police Clear Metrobus Strikers from Yard Entrance 1974 # 1
Police clear strikers from yard entrance at the garage on Bladensburg Road NE Washington, DC May 4, 1974. A union member who crossed the picket line after the union called an end to its strike is operating the bus. Most workers continued a “wildcat” strike until May 6.
Union officials had ordered the unauthorized strike ended on May 2 and some union members crossed picket lines including a shop steward at the Bladensburg Division. He was defeated in the next election.
