Around $100US; there's all kinds of deals to be had on eBay. ^_^

Wanderer- if you don't mind something larger- or if you want a bigger keyboard you can usually pick up a QuickPad IR for around 25.00 +Shipping on ebay as well.

    Hi Mary!

The QuickPad does look pretty shiny, thanks. ^_^ I'll look into it.

I had an HP Jornada 680 and the keyboard was actually pretty good. It took a lil' bit of getting used to, but once you did it seemed about right. I wrote all the time on it.

    Good Luck

I like the look of that little NEC of yours. I've read that it has compatibility issues with current OS systems, though. Now that you've had it awhile, has it proven to be a useful writing tool or do you return to your netbook more when all is said and done?

I'd like something small to access the internet via wifi when I'm traveling on the road, to do email, write my stories (access dropbox for files) and have something that if it was stolen I wouldn't weep over the lost hundreds of dollars as I would with a new machine.

Unfortunately, the NEC developed problems with its power cable. I haven't used it in over a year. My current Eee serves the purpose of writing machine and general use computer pretty well, though.

I'm sorry to hear that. I decided to get a NEC and give it a try. At only $60 on eBay, it was worth taking a risk. If it doesn't work out, I still have my alphasmart for write-ins. :) I'm glad I found your photo, it inspired me. :)
