saudi arabia rijal al maa

Rijal Almaa is a traditional, centuries old village of multistorey, stone fortress houses. One of the houses has been beautifully restored and converted in the Almaa Museum. The five-storey façade spread across five conjoined buildings is extraordinary with its austere stone and clay offset by white-washed window frames. The interior's 19 rooms are crowded with almost 2000 exhibits, including household items, costumes, weaponry, jewellery and sacred texts, all from the local area.
