The demand for services is increasing for Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan. The organization expects to save $13,381 annually on its energy bill, which it says is the equivalent of 40,143 meals. Gleaners will use its $32,376 grant to improve the efficiency of its lighting and heating and air conditioning control systems in its Pontiac, Mich. facility. The group will also install destratification fans to help better regulate air temperature at different levels of the warehouse.
